Q&A with Chimere J. Ward of Clean Plate Co.

Chimere J. Ward

Word on the scene at the Ridgewood Market is – try the shrimp and grits from Clean Plate Co. When I participated a few markets ago, my vendor neighbors were all raving about it. I went to Clean Plate’s table to give it a try and had the pleasure of meeting Chimere J. Ward, Clean Plate’s visionar. After chatting for a bit and learning Chimere is a Ridgewood neighbor, I headed  back to my table and ate, immediately confirming  the awesomeness of the shrimp and grits. Chimere is a hell of a cook! Read […]

mingle with mimosas at the Ridgewood Market

Ridgewood Market

We attended the first Ridgewood Market last month and it was pretty neat. Held at our favorite bar Gottscheer Hall, the market showcased vendors ranging from jewelry designers, to soap makers to food vendors. New to the bill this month is O live Brooklyn and Sabbas Spicery. These are of particular interest to us and will be our first visits – the more food vendors the better! What sets this market apart from the others? You can drink while shopping. We know, this is awesome (!!!) but it gets better. Catch brunch with your friends in the tap room […]

This Sunday will be hoppin! Two super fun, food centric events happening in Ridgewood: 1. The first ever Ridgewood Market is happening at Gottscheer Hall – starts at 11am. I love the idea of strolling around with a cocktail and shopping –  two of my favorite things! From the looks of it, some neat stuff  will be for sale, including food items.  Photos via ridgewoodmarket.com Bunker!  Rudy’s Bakery will be there! Norma’s will sell as well! Clean Plate Co. These look fantastic! And last but not least, Amelia will debut Sweet Treats! It gets […]

The Onderdonk House Summer Flea Market

The Onderdonk Flea Market

Flo and myself had a wonderful time this past Saturday at The Onderdonk House Flea Market. We met a bunch of nice folks, sold some plants and people watched. Flo said she felt like it was 1965 again “the way these young people dress”. We also shopped – I purchased a bling cross necklace and a handmade dress by @Fashion_isGreat, beautiful note cards, and Flo picked up cobalt blue candle holders! The highlights for us, were of course food related. First off, Norma’s Cafe was there (!!), selling many sweet […]

Black Spiders

Black Spiders - Onderdonk Flea Market

Visit us this Saturday at the Onderdonk House Summer Flea Market. We’re selling spider plants – in black containers, very posh! But don’t fret, we’ll also have our traditional spiders in Sclafani cans. New addition this go-around – mint! All home grown in Ridgewood, Queens. Good news, I figured out a much easier way to create drainage in the cans, No drill needed, only a hammer and a nail. Check it out. Over 55 vendors will be selling a variety of goods. More details here. Hope to see you there! […]
