Roller skating is really hard.

IMG_4653

I’ve wanted to buy a pair of skates since my roller skating birthday party, over two Rockaway summers ago. I would go down the “rabbit hole” of online shopping, trying to find the best quality, and style (style being top priority) for the best price. I’m SHREDDING

crom

Previously published in The Wave. I used to be a star athlete. Think Al Bundy’s high school  football “legacy” except mine was lacrosse and field hockey. You walk up one flight of stairs to the second level for entry and check-in. The treadmills, bikes and elliptical machines are the first thing you see. You can get your cardio workout […]

Yoga on the Rocks

I tagged along with Rockaway Rises for a private yoga session at Yoga on The Rocks  (198 B 92nd St. Rockaway Beach). If you read this blog, it’s very likely that you love to eat, and at times, (especially before the summer) exercise is in order.  I was a bit nervous,  as I haven’t taken a yoga class in a while. But after meeting the owner/instructor, Lena Roca, right away I felt relaxed. Her no frills, light-hearted attitude set the tone for a fantastic, calming class. Lena is a massage theropist, surfer […]
