I remember being in church at midnight mass on Christmas Eve as a kid. I was probably around 12 years old. Old enough to get the message from the homily—something to the effect of “We have a lot of ‘visitors.’” The priest went on to discuss how so many of us only come to church on holidays and when it’s convenient for our schedules. First Communion Banners

First Communion Banner

I was taken back by the artwork for the children’s first Communion banners I saw this past Sunday at St. Rose of Lima. Each one is a special expression of creativity and love for God. I drifted during mass, critiquing and trying to picture what each child looked like that created each illustration. The banners are hung along the walls, they look so beautiful!
