Summer’s First Tomatoes

The first tomatoes of the summer, fresh from the RD! And appropriately enough, the first Glorified Tomato post ever! For those unfamiliar, the RD stands for “Roof Deck”.  As a Long Islander transplanted to Queens, I  missed the backyard vibe SO my skilled, hard-working and very handsome Husband built the RD for yours truly so I’d  feel right at home.

The first building phase took about 7 days. With occasional  help from a few friends, enticed by free beer and home made turkey/cheese sandwiches the deck and staining was complete by Mothers Day, 2010.
