We recently learned that there’s a farm share organization close by – Glendale Community Supported Agriculture. It started in 2010 partnering with Garden of Eve Organic Farm in Riverhead, NY. Together, they provide Queens residents with 24 weeks of farm fresh veggies, fruits, flowers, eggs, monthly meat shares and bi-weekly cheese shares. If the concept of a cheese share isn’t amazing enough for you, there’s also a coffee share program from Brooklyn Roasting Company!
This is important folks – there’s only a few more days to sign up (deadline is May 31st, 8pm.) Click here to Register. Pickups are Saturday mornings, 8:30am to 11:30am (sharp) at 7207 88th St. It’s a home residence, a very adorable purple house (we looked on google maps!). The program encourages you too meet others involved in the group, discuss gardening, and perhaps even take a tour of the farm your food is coming from. Let’s support local business and local food!
